December

The semester has really flown by. I can hardly believe I only have a week and a half left. I ended up dropping Art 117 because I simply could not afford all the extra costs of the class. Such as materials and the sort. I'm glad I ended up dropping it though because it's a class I really don't want to take anyways.

I am thoroughly enjoying my other classes. Visual Programming is fun and challenging, and Web Design has been a great introduction into the world of web design and development. Recently my team and I presented our Web Development project to the class. I designed the layout, and together we coded it in HTML and CSS to form a functioning prototype homepage.

As you can see we just used the logo I designed for my Art 130 class the previous semester and based a company off that to design the website. In the sake of time I borrowed some of the graphics from various locations, a template in Illustrator, backcountry.com and maybe altrec.com so that you could get a better feel for the look of the site. I plan on creating my own graphics when I have time so as to not be accused of "copying" work that is not my own.

New Projects

My short break from school is almost over. I have about two weeks left now before I head back to the grind. No graphic design classes in my schedule this fall, however I will be taking Web Design over in the CIT department and Color & Design in the Art dept. as well.

Currently I am working full force on a small smattering of projects.
  1. My personalized logo and website/webfolio, resume and identity
  2. A logo and blog layout for my cousin
  3. Sketches and logo concepts for two companies
I'm excited about everything I'm working on, and it's good to have something to do while on break. I am especially excited about working on my own website from conception to programming and testing. I think it'll be a really good experience and I'll probably learn a lot from it.
